Mission The UIC Women's Leadership Symposium was founded to make leadership development
more accessible to women on campus and to address the unique issues faced by minority women. Keynote Address: Sylvia Friedman Sylvia Friedman, president of Insight Track is also an Author, Coach, Motivational Speaker, Handwriting Analyst, Astrologer and Entertainer. Her dynamic personality and instant sense of familiarity are what clients and audiences respond to and what enables her to get her important message across. Friedman brings to her work a keen understanding of the human personality and human dynamics, born out of her experience with hundreds of corporations, individuals and families over the past 20 years. She is the author of "The Stars in Your Family: How astrology affects relationships between parents and children". In her keynote address, "Let Me Lead the Way", Sylvia will provide the steps to conquer fear in order to recognize, explore and utilize each individual's talent and ability to it's fullest potential. Leadership is about truth, action and courage. It's not frightening, it's enlightening! Luncheon Address: Nicole Jones Highly-inspired Nicole Jones, is the founder of Sensual Steps, Inc. and the owner of the NJ Management Company, a property rehabilitation, real estate management and development company. Nicole also hosts monthly seminars and events catering to the growth and development of women, a passion she has fostered for the past fifteen years. As chairman and founder of Sensual Steps, Nicole has unearthed one of her many great talents - seeking out beautiful, sensual and unique shoes that woman can feel proud about wearing. Having discovered a demographic that was fashionable, yet underexposed and underrepresented in the Bronzeville community, Nicole aimed to break the mold by offering this growing population of stylish women distinctive and inspirational fashion bearing an unmistakable hint of sensuality. She is known throughout the Midwest region as the "Shoe Professa" or "the Shoe Lady". Nicole states, "Women admire my consultation and my ability to 'assist them with surfacing their shoe craze, while building their self-esteem from a simple, affordable and unique shoe design'". We are very proud and excited to have both Sylvia and Nicole speaking this year! In addition, we will be offering raffle prizes, entertainment and great networking opportunities.
