RA Position Fall 2011

*Position Available -- Research Assistant* (50% Time -- 20 hours/week)

The UIC Center for Research on Women and Gender/Center of Excellence in
Women's Health (CRWG/COE) is seeking applications for the position of
Research Assistant (RA). The RA will assist CRWG/COE staff with support for
UIC's Building Interdisciplinary Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH) training
grant and additional women's health research projects.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with all components of preparation of a funding proposal according
to UIC and NIH requirements, including writing, editing, compiling
information from diverse sources and facilitating communication among
collaborators.

· Support training grant by coordinating meetings and events, program
evaluation

· Assist with research activities including data collection, data entry, and
data analysis

· Assist with writing and preparation of manuscripts, funding proposals, IRB
submissions and presentations

· Assist with other clerical tasks, as appropriate

Qualifications:

· Candidate must be enrolled as a graduate student at UIC (experience in
women's health research preferred)

· Experience with academic writing, grant writing, IRB applications,
database design and data analysis preferred

· Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, responsible, and
have excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Candidate should be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, SPSS
or SAS experience preferred.

Appointment: Summer term, 8/16/11 through 12/31/10 with potential for
continuation

Hours: 50% time (20 hrs per week), flexible schedule
