The Chancellor's Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities (CCSPD) is seeking energetic students, staff and faculty interested in serving on the Committee during the 2001-2012 academic year. The CCSPD is seeking representatives from both the East and West campuses and a mix of individuals that reflects the diversity of the University. The mission of the CCSPD is to promote the empowerment and inclusion of students, faculty and staff with disabilities at UIC. The Committee recognizes that people with disabilities are a diverse group, including individuals with visible and non-visible disabilities. Individuals interested in serving on the Committee must be able to commit time to the Committee by attending monthly meetings and serving on a subcommittee. Individuals should send a statement explaining their interest in disability issues and their reasons for wanting to serve on the CCSPD to pberg@uic.edu by Friday, April 8, 2011. If you have any questions please contact Peter Berg at (312) 413-1407. To get additional information about the Committee visit the CCSPD web site at http://www.uic.edu/orgs/ccspd/. |
