This year's conference will focus on developing a greater understanding and awareness of how partnerships between individuals, organization and government entities can lead to successful peacebuilding. Sessions and panels will explore how and why relationships and cooperation - through common interests on local, regional and global scales - can pave the way for improved stability and peace in our world. Presentations may be completed research, research in progress, or case studies. Ideas for full panel sessions, workshops, or interactive sessions and performances are also welcome as proposals. Submissions may cover a wide range of topics and disciplines related to peace studies and peacebuilding, but they should generally contribute to the discussion established by the conference theme. Possible presentations could focus on current partnerships, advocate the creation and promotion of future relationships, or simply analyze the possible benefits of multifaceted enterprises in creating peace. Examples include, but are not limited to, government projects, international corporations, nongovernmental organizations, and public-private ventures. The deadline for submission is Friday, February 4, 2011. For consideration, submissions must consist of a one-page abstract or description of the project with the title, author/creator and school name, along with a current résumé or curriculum vitae. Submissions should be emailed to peacecon@nd.edu<mailto:peacecon@nd.edu> as a Microsoft Word or PDF attachment. Notification of acceptance will be sent as soon as the review process is completed, no later than February 25, 2011. The Student Peace Conference is sponsored by the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. While funding for transportation and lodging is not available to panelists or participants, there is no registration fee and meals will be provided.
